Two Easy, Organized Pantry Spaces

Enjoying one of my favorite pastimes this weekend — organizing! Organizing gives me a sense of calm and order, while also giving me that same kind of positive feeling of accomplishment that comes with any home improvement project.

Since our house isn’t terribly large and doesn’t have a lot of storage on the open first floor, we’ve had to get creative with our pantry spaces. We have two pantry spaces that we’ve found work well.

Kitchen Cabinet Pantry

First, we use one tall, narrow cabinet in the kitchen to store pantry items we use frequently. This space has very small, but deep shelves that needed just the right containers to maximize the space. I chose a series of items from the The Home Edit line from The Container Store because they not only look nice, but they were just the right size:

  • The Home Edit All-Purpose Deep Bins store dinner items, crackers, nuts and nut butters and sweets. I love how they’re divided in the center to create two spaces and help keep everything in order.
  • The Home Edit Narrow Pantry Bins are perfect to hold grab-and-go snacks.
  • The Home Edit Cereal Canisters make all the cereal look uniform and keep them air-tight to last longer.

We used The Home Edit’s pantry labels to help keep everything organized. I love how the script looks too!

Closet Pantry

Recently, we also created a make-shift pantry using half of our back hall closet that’s right off the kitchen. We installed wire shelving to store less-frequently used and back stock items that we used to store in the basement.

For this space, we got the medium Clear Storage Bins with Handles from The Container Store. These bins are really inexpensive and you can buy a set for steal. I got the clear bins so I could see everything easily.

We also used The Home Edit pantry labels here to make putting groceries away crystal clear and keep everything properly corralled.

These were both such easy projects that made such a big difference to how organized we feel! Excited to tackle a few other small projects soon to share with you all. Have you been doing any easy organizing lately? I’d love to hear!

Writing more soon!

Do you have a reading goal for 2022? The past two Do you have a reading goal for 2022? The past two years I’ve read about a book a week, hitting 52 books in 2020 and even more this year. I can happily say this goal is no longer a tough one for me, but a new habit and hobby that bring so much joy to my life. Part of that is this community, so thank you all! I’ll continue reading (and posting about it) just as much next year, but I’ll be focused less on quantity and more on quality. I’m excited to see where another year of reading takes me.

I’d love to hear what your plans for reading are in 2022! And watch for a post on my favorite books of 2021 coming soon!
