The Simplest Photo Books

One of the most stress-inducing conversations you can have with other moms is the status of their digital photos and family photo albums.

With the thousands of photos we take on our phones, there are just so many photos to go through in order to make one of these books, especially if you are trying to do a yearly album. And if you haven’t kept your digital photos in order, it can just be too overwhelming to even think about.

But there is another amazing option for photo books that Anna and I love that is little to no work at all and very inexpensive…it’s an app called Chatbooks.

When you download the Chatbooks app and log into your Instagram or Facebook account, your posts will automatically aggregate into small, paperback books (6″ x 6″). When I signed up a couple years ago, all of my Instagram posts since I first started my personal Instagram account back in 2012 filled several little books. What’s even better was that I could add my husband’s account too so all of our photos are combined in order by date. Now the books come regularly when a new one is full.

Easy and Customizable

Not sure you want all of your Instagram posts in a book? No worries, Chatbooks sends you an e-mail when a new book is complete and you have the chance to edit it by deleting photos, changing the cover image or reordering images. Each book has one post per page, with the date and any caption or location you included when you posted. And they are only $8 each with free shipping. So amazing.

Another great thing about Chatbooks is that you can also make custom photo books by uploading photos to the app. I think this is the perfect thing to do after a vacation or a kid’s birthday.

I still try to make annual Shutterfly photo books that include more pictures from the year, but I love knowing I have these too and that they will always come no matter if I’m slacking on the yearly photo albums (I’m always at least a year behind).

Have you tried Chatbooks?

Do you have a reading goal for 2022? The past two Do you have a reading goal for 2022? The past two years I’ve read about a book a week, hitting 52 books in 2020 and even more this year. I can happily say this goal is no longer a tough one for me, but a new habit and hobby that bring so much joy to my life. Part of that is this community, so thank you all! I’ll continue reading (and posting about it) just as much next year, but I’ll be focused less on quantity and more on quality. I’m excited to see where another year of reading takes me.

I’d love to hear what your plans for reading are in 2022! And watch for a post on my favorite books of 2021 coming soon!
