For the past few years, we have grown lettuce, herbs and a few vegetables in our backyard using elevated garden. We grow a lot of lettuce, resulting in incredible salads all summer long. But one of my favorite ways to use the lettuce isn’t for salad, but for lettuce wraps!
I think I always felt a little intimidated making a lettuce wrap, thinking it would be a messy disaster, but it’s really easy. The key is using a large leaf of lettuce, cutting out any hard, fibrous middle stems, not overfilling and using the right folding technique. After placing my filling in, I fold the two longer sides over, the roll from top to bottom.
For a great summer lunch, I fill mine with turkey, avocado, red onion and a little mayo. Do you have a garden? Have you tried making lettuce wraps?
