Almost two years ago we added onto our upstairs over our existing kitchen and family room. The flat roof above part of the kitchen was just the right size to build a new girls’ bathroom (we previously all shared one bathroom, which was less than ideal). It was so fun to create a bathroom that was just for the girls!
Our contractor, Gabor Design Build LLC, helped us select the materials the girls bathroom from their showroom. In terms of style, I wanted a classic look that would last. We went with classic subway tiles in the shower, black and white basketweave floor tiles, white Quartz countertops and white walls. To have a little fun but keep things sophisticated, we decided to go with a bluish gray vanity (similar to Benjamin Moore Silver Gray Brittany Blue) and glass knobs.
I’m happy that we had enough space in this bathroom for two sinks. Even though I can envision many an argument taking place in here over the years over hogging the bathroom, hopefully there will be less to bicker about when they each have their own sink and storage.

Bathroom Progress
Here’s a look at the makings of the girls’ bathroom. It’s hard to believe this was a flat roof for decades! While it felt like this process took a while, Gabor did a great job of keeping it moving.

Cheers to now having separate bathrooms! Read more about how we’ve renovated our fixer upper, including what we did in our kitchen, living room and dining room.
