COVID has definitely created some new habits in our house. One that I think will stay around forever is how much better we wash the fruits and veggies we eat. In fact, I’m not sure why we weren’t always doing this as well as we now do – seems like a no-brainer now.

When we unpack groceries, we put two large bowls into the sink put about a tablespoon or so of Young Living Thieves Fruit and Veggie Soak into each bowl and then filling with warm water (alternatively you could clean the sink and put a stopper in the drain, filling the sink with water, but I’m usually too lazy).
Then, we soak the fruit and veggies, rinse them off and put them away, either on the counter or in the fridge. It’s not only a super easy step when we’re unpacking groceries, it’s also so nice to just be able to grab fruit knowing it’s washed and ready to go, rather than cleaning each piece individually.
I’d say we’re also washing the outsides of fruit that we never would have before because we don’t eat the skin, but that can contain some nasty stuff on the surface like bacteria or pesticides.
The Fruit and Veggie Soak is made up of the Thieves essential oil blend (our go-to to help keep us healthy), the Di-Gize essential oil blend and the Purification essential oil blend. There are a ton of other Thieves products. We’ve really liked the hand wash and dish soap too.
I buy my Young Living products from my step-sister Hilary who is a serious health and wellness guru. You can follow her on Instagram at @consciousdroppers.
