5 Timeless Staples to Add to Your Wardrobe

I’ve always relied on J. Crew for its style and ease. Back in the day, I’d page through the catalog, dogearing the outfits I’d ask my mom to buy me (albeit sometimes they were men’s sweaters during those middle and high school years – anyone else?). But the point is, J. Crew has always provided many of the pieces that have served as the workhorses of my wardrobe.

Filling my closet with pieces I know will stay in style and last for more than just a season is so important to me. And getting those pieces for a steal is even better!

Over the past few weeks, J. Crew has had some amazing sales and I’ve picked up a few classic staples that I know will last for years to come.

A Little White Dress – We’ve seen this eyelet dress a lot on Instagram for good reason – it might just be the perfect spring and summer dress. With long sleeves it has a slightly longer life each year and its classic shape and fabric won’t go out of style. And bonus, it’s giving me major Blair Waldorf vibes season 1 episode 2 vibes. If you know, you know.

A Feminine Cotton Blouse – This can be worn year-round, tucked into shorts in the summer and paired with jeans in cooler temps. I chose this girly piece in black to toughen it up a bit. It’s perfect for a date night (if we ever get around to going on those again!).

An Americana T-Shirt Dress – While this is red, white and blue, it’s a piece I’d wear all spring through fall, adding a jean jacket once the temps start to cool. Casual is the name of the game right now (and always, let’s be serious), but this dress helps me feel pulled together while being completely comfortable.

A Blue and White Striped Tunic – I’ve already deemed this a favorite in my closet. The crisp poplin helps me instantly feel pulled together whether it’s paired with white tennies or gold sandals.

A Classic Plaid Button Down – I know, I know, it’s summer and I’m showing you winter plaid. But while I might not be wearing this yet, I know better than to not snap a MAJOR deal on something I’ll wear constantly come fall and winter that will be a staple for years to come. I’m a Wisconsin girl after all. Just you wait.

Do you have a reading goal for 2022? The past two Do you have a reading goal for 2022? The past two years I’ve read about a book a week, hitting 52 books in 2020 and even more this year. I can happily say this goal is no longer a tough one for me, but a new habit and hobby that bring so much joy to my life. Part of that is this community, so thank you all! I’ll continue reading (and posting about it) just as much next year, but I’ll be focused less on quantity and more on quality. I’m excited to see where another year of reading takes me.

I’d love to hear what your plans for reading are in 2022! And watch for a post on my favorite books of 2021 coming soon!
