I think we set a record for the amount of movies we watched as a family last year. After Googling “family movies,” searching Pinterest and asking friends for recommendations, we found so many great movies the whole family loved.
However, the best movies we watched this year weren’t new to the adults in the house — they were some of our go-to movies from back in the day. There’s nothing better than watching one of your old favorites with your kid…and they love it too!
Disclaimer: Before I share these movie picks, my kids are 9 and 11 years old, so while I’ve deemed these appropriate for my kids, you may not find them appropriate for yours. These are not all PG — there are definitely parts in some of these movies where I hit the fast-forward button (and was glad I knew the movie so well that I was ready). My advice is to look each movie up on Common Sense Media and decide if it’s right for your family.
